I went into Okitsura expecting a romcom, and yeah, it has a lot of romcom elements, but it’s also an Okinawa tourism promo in disguise. That said, it’s really fun. The trivia bits stay interesting for the most part, especially when they go off the rails with the funny sketches and historical flashbacks.

But yeah, by the halfway point, the “did you know” facts start reaching and some characters straight up vanish. Still, it’s got heart, and the small island romance works really well.
