Top 10 Adventure Romance Anime You Must Watch Right Now – Don’t you love traveling while finding some love along the way? Today, we’re going to see the top 10 adventure romance anime you must watch right now. Let’s get into it.
10. Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers

Sometimes getting isekai’d doesn’t go the way you plan. When Banaza, a regular merchant, gets pulled into a magical world of Klyrode, things don’t go as planned. Instead of gaining cool powers, he ends up in a remote forest with no way back.
After leveling up once, he suddenly becomes insanely powerful but has no idea what to do with it. To stay unnoticed, he hides his identity as Flio and crosses paths with Fenrys, a young demihuman girl who turns out to be a Lupine demon. From there onwards, the two decide to adventure together.
The show works because it mixes light humor with actual character growth, which keeps things fun but meaningful. Flio’s relatable personality makes him easy to root for, and his chemistry with Fenrys adds a nice, wholesome romance to the story.
The animation is solid throughout and really helps bring the fantasy world to life, making it an engaging watch for fans of laid-back isekai stories.
9. The Pilot’s Love Song

If you aim to be a pilot, then you sure are going to love this anime. Kal-el Albus aims to find the end of the sky, a mythical concept, and is sent to Isla, an island in the sky, where he joins Cadoques High’s Aerial Division. Life’s smooth until a surprise attack by the air tribe triggers a brutal war, pulling Isla into chaos.
This anime barely got the recognition it deserves, especially considering how well it balances story and character development. The fantasy world’s war feels grounded, and Kal-el secret identity and revenge subplot add some much-needed depth.
The characters are surprisingly mature, avoiding over-the-top anime clichés, which is actually refreshing. As someone who is into romance-heavy anime, this one really clicked.
It’s more genuine and well-written than most anime that label themselves as romance. It’s a shame more people aren’t talking about it because it hits way above its weight in terms of quality.
8. Unnamed Memory

This story follows Prince Oscar, who’s cursed by the Witch of Silence, making it almost impossible for any woman to have his child. So, the dude’s got some serious problems. After years of searching for a solution, he finds the Witch of the Azure Moon, Tinasha.
She says fixing the curse is tough and suggests finding a partner immune to the curse instead. Oscar, being a smart main character, asks her to marry him. She says no at first, but they agree she’ll stay with him for a while while they keep searching for a fix.
This anime is pretty solid in the romance and humor department. The dynamic between Oscar and Tinasha keeps things interesting, especially because Oscar’s pushy but genuine.
It’s a chill mix of fantasy and comedy that feels more grounded than some overly dramatic stuff. There is also tons of adventure and worldbuilding packed in, along with a nice and wholesome second season, too. So, give this one a go.
7. Sugar Apple Fairy Tale

In this world, fairies used to exist freely until humans betrayed them, stealing their wings and enslaving them. Fifteen-year-old Ann Halford, a young aspiring confectioner, dreams of becoming a Silver Sugar Master, just like her late mother.
In order to head to the candy fair, she hires a feisty fairy warrior, Shall Fen Shall, as her bodyguard, promising to return his wings once they reach the capital. And along the journey, they fall in love.
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale is a rare, well-made shoujo anime with high-quality animation and a solid blend of drama and slice of life. And that’s something rare to find. Ann’s character feels authentic—flawed, stubborn, and idealistic—which makes her relatable.
Shall’s mysterious vibe keeps viewers intrigued, and there’s a good mix of character quirks that keep things interesting. The show even tackles tough themes like slavery and gender issues without feeling preachy. So, if you want a sweet love story with deep themes, this is the one for you.
6. Record of Grancrest War

We’re approaching one of my all-time favorites. This story kicks off when a royal wedding gets crashed by a dark energy called Chaos, releasing demons and ultimately the Demon Lord of Diabolos.
Siluca is a skilled mage that teams up with Theo Cornaro, a wandering fighter with a special crest that can banish chaos. Together, they aim to fix a land torn by war and darkness, with Theo’s goal to free his hometown from tyranny.
If you need politics mixed in with your adventure and romance, then this is the show for you. It isn’t as chaotic as real-world politics, but there are tons of storylines with kingdoms, royalty, and betrayal that keep you at the edge of your seat.
There’s also a good balance between the drama and action, and there is a nice wholesome romance in the background, too. The ending was solid, and the final boss fight was a bit slow, but overall it’s a tightly put-together ride. Definitely worth a watch.
5. The Story of Saiunkoku

We’re in for some more politics. Shuurei is a clever girl from a noble yet poor family. Her dream is to become a government official, but women aren’t allowed in such roles. Her life changes when she’s asked to be the emperor’s consort for six months in exchange for some cash.
Ryuuki, the new emperor, is pretty chill and likes to hang out with the boys without dealing with politics. So, Shuurei ends up in a palace packed with political drama and court intrigue.
The show’s really underrated. Its story starts simple but quickly gets complex, blending political schemes with tons of character development. Shuurei stands out as a strong, relatable lead but doesn’t annoy you like your typical female lead.
Since this is a shoujo anime, you’ve got to buy shounen character design, but these characters also get development and have their own personalities. Overall, this is one amazing anime with adventure, romance, and politics.
4. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle: Tokyo Revelations

This is an OVA based on the Tsubasa Chronicles series, so you’ll have to watch that first. This is about Syaoran and friends moving to Tokyo Country, a war-torn land ravaged by blood, and fighting for resources and survival.
As they navigate this chaos, they’re met with more shocking revelations, more betrayals, and more stuff that made the original Tsubasa Chronicles so amazing.
Why am I recommending an OVA when I should be recommending the main series? Well, because this is the best entry for the franchise. It’s a step up from everything.
The animation’s better. There’s more character growth than before, and it’s more layered and complex, which adds depth without losing the feel of the core. The music is always chef’s kiss since it’s done by the legendary Yuki Kajiura. And yes, the lady behind those awesome Fate soundtracks.
3. Katanagatari

People don’t recommend this anime anymore, and I really want to know why, because it’s a masterpiece. Katanagatari is set in Edo Japan, focusing on Shichika Yasuri, who wields his body as a sword with his unique Kyotouryuu style.
He’s living in quiet exile with his sister until Togame crashes into his life, asking for help to collect twelve legendary swords called the Deviant Blades. Together, they decide to head in to collect those blades, but it isn’t as easy as they thought.
This series is heavily dialogue-driven, which isn’t for everyone. No big fight scenes every episode—more about character exchanges. Think Bakemonogatari, but with more fantasy elements. But that’s what makes this show shine.
Shichika’s growth from an emotionless weapon into a real person is pretty well done, and the character designs are distinct, even with simple lines. I know it starts off like some kind of power fantasy, but it’s all about Shichika and Togame bonding over time.
2. Yona of the Dawn

We’re off to the final politics show on this list. Yona, a sheltered princess of Kouka, lives a pampered life until her world falls apart when her cousin betrays her, killing her father and forcing her to run for her life.
With her loyal bodyguard, Hak, she escapes the palace and starts her journey to grow stronger, both in mind and body, to reclaim her kingdom. In most anime, it’s main characters who are male who get stabbed in the back and then decide to go on a revenge spree.
But Yona flips the script and does it even better than a lot of the revenge anime. Yona evolves from a fragile princess into someone determined to protect her people, and her growth feels genuine.
Her romance with Hak is written much better than your average shoujo romance as well. The side characters get their stories as well, making the whole cast more relatable. If you need a great adventure romance anime with a female lead, give this one a go.
1. Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf

You know I’m going to finish with one of my favorites. This is a remake of the original that dives deep into Lawrence and Holo’s relationship, focusing on their journey and business dealings.
Holo, the legendary wolf of folklore, joins Lawrence as he travels through towns trying to make a living. Their banter is sharp, and the story mainly revolves around how they work together to navigate crazy economics and bring Holo back to her home.
The remake still nails the chemistry between Lawrence and Holo. Their conversations feel natural, and the voice acting really brings out their personalities. The new episodes expand on their backstory and emotional vulnerabilities without losing what made the original special—especially Holo’s confident, witty attitude.
The remake is also more true to the light novel, and as a bonus, you even get some smooth-as-butter modern animation. Let’s hope this adapts till the end of the light novel, because this is one anime that deserves tons of love.
