Top 10 Best Manhwa You Need To Be Reading in 2022 – Hey guys!. In this post, I’ll be discussing a list of Top 10 Best Manhwa You Need To Be Reading in 2022. Searching for amazing manhwa? Well look no further. We all love manhwa.
As someone that has read a lot of manhwa, these are my manhwa recommendations, which is my personal favourite manhwas and the manhwa you must read. There is no meaning to the order of this list. So, let’s get started.
1. Solo Leveling
Let’s start off with the obligatory, solo levelling. I know most of you have read this manhwa, but for those that haven’t. solo levelling is about a world that will have gates popping out of it like my pimples. And these gates connect the human world to the monster world, so hunters are tasked with the duty to clear these gates before the monsters can break out of the gates.
The main appeal of this manhwa is of course, everyone’s favourite bad ass main character, sung jin woo. In a nutshell, he grinded his way up from a loser, E-rank hunter, to become an overpowered, handsome, k pop, oppa. Man, I wish I have a transformation like that.
2. Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint
Next, from the same illustrator of solo levelling, we have, omniscient reader’s viewpoint. Over the course of a decade, kim dokja has been the sole reader of the novel, 3 ways to survive in a ruined world. After reading the last chapter of the novel, the real world is plunged into chaos, and everyone is forced to participate in various supernatural scenarios in order to survive.
Here’s the catch, the world plays out exactly the same as the novel kim read. So he basically watched the walkthrough of this game before even playing this game. As Kim Dokja and his party members progress through the scenarios, they face difficult threats and life-or-death challenges.
It is an incredibly fun reed, with currently 114 chapters for you to enjoy. Also, did I mention, that it is done by the same illustrator as solo leveling, so needless to say, the art is incredible.
3. FFF-Class Trashero
It’s isekai time. FFF class trash hero revolves around Protagonist Kin Han Soo. So, he managed to kill the demon king after 10 years of being summoned into this fantasy world. Now it’s time to be sent back to his own world.
What’s this? The fantasy world’s deity appears along with his report card. He got a big fat F grade on his report card for his personality. Consequently, He has to return back to the starting line 10 years ago and re-conquer this fantasy world. Can Kin Han Soo end this endless cycle of returns?
For those that doesn’t like trashy, edgy, main characters, This probably isn’t the manhwa for you. But for those of you that are like me, and doesn’t mind edge lords such as kin han soo, boy are you in for a treat.
4. Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World
You know when an isekai protagonist gets transported to another world, he will usually have a guideline, like a levelling system to make him overpowered. Yeah, this is the story of our main character, han bin, who’s guideline was broken and filled with errors.
Due to that, every time he reaches level 5, his level gets reset back and he can’t escape the first world which was supposedly the tutorial world, because the requirement was to get pass level 5. However, he was resilient and didn’t give up. With the hope that eventually he will be able to get out to the main world, he kept continuing this cycle of levelling.
Until eventually, after many years, he actually made it out. Having grinded for so long, he went out to the main world as an overpowered sword’s men. The art is amazing, the action scenes are cool, give it a reed if you like manhwa like this.
5. The Beginning After The End
Moving on, we have another isekai. Why, because I love isekai. And The beginning after the end is an amazing manhwa. It’s like mushoku tensei. But better. At least compared to mushoku tensei’s manga. The Mushoku tensei Anime was great though.
This time, The person that was reincarnated was actually a king, a king with unparalleled martial arts abilities in his past life. Seriously, you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t give this manhwa a try.
Bastard is one of those rare manhwas that actually does psychological horror well. Our main character is jin, who is forced to live with a serial killer, his father. Ever since he was a child, he was forced to be an accomplice by his father, often doing his dad’s dirty work. Jin does as he is forced, until one day, his father takes interest in a girl he likes.
Jin Begins to silently rebel against his father, playing all sorts of mind games to protect this girl he likes. The author does a great job creating these nerve wrecking and intense moments that often has me at the edge of my seat. It’s unnerving, thrilling, and dark. So if you are into that kind of stuff, bastard’s the manhwa for you.
7. Sweet Home
From the same author as bastard, we have another gem, called sweet home. It is another psychological thriller that will have you shaking in your boots. Cha hyun soo lives a tragic life. His whole family died in some sort of accident, he lives a loner life in his apartment complex, and he has resolved to kill himself on a specific date.
One night, he witnesses one of his neighbour transform into a human-eating monster. 2 days later, he realises the world has fell into chaos, as it is infatuated by these man eating monsters. Yes, this is a zombie apocalypse story. But this ain’t your regular zombies, the twist here is that the zombies take on various shapes and sizes, according to the avatar of the infected person’s desire.
So there are invisible zombies, if the person doesn’t like to be seen. there are giant muscular zombies, if the person is obsessed with their body. It is through these various tragedies and thrillers, that our main character learns once more, what it means to want to live.
Sweet home is a manhwa filled with so much suspense, your body hair will be standing up when you reed it, or mine at least. Definitely give this one a try.
8. Ranker Who Lives A Second Time
Yeon woo had a twin brother who disappeared suddenly 5 years ago. One day, Yeon woo got hold of his brother’s diary. He discovers that his brother was betrayed and killed in Obelisk. Obelisk, the Tower of the Sun God, is a world where many universes and dimensions intersect.
Yeon-woo’s brother had died after being betrayed while he climbed the Tower, and after learning the shocking truth, Yeon-woo decided to climb the tower with the help of his brother’s diary in order to avenge his brother.
His time served in the army proved to be extremely useful, as he becomes a powerful, cool player while climbing the tower. This is another power fantasy manhwa. If you still hadn’t notice from the abundance of power fantasy manhwa in this list, I have a thing for power fantasy stories.
9. Peerless Dad
Second to last, we have peerless dad. Peerless dad is about an ex mercenary turned father who tries his best to raise his kids as a single dad. When he was young, he was trained by a mysterious master and later became a mercenary who would go around killing people as long as he was paid.
However once he fell in love with a lady, he begins to have thoughts on settling down. When they wound up having kids, his wife doesn’t make it and he has to support his babies by himself. The only way he knows how is by beating people up.
He lands a job at being the guardian of a gate, but because of his training in his younger days, he ends up being ridiculously strong. His quiet job as a gate keeper becomes interrupted by harder and harder jobs in exchange for a better life for his kids. This is a wholesome manhwa about a father, who just wants to set his kids up for life, and I love it.
Our last manhwa mainly takes place in a virtual reality game, satisfy. Our main character, grid, spends most of his time in this VR game. The manhwa starts off with our main character finally nearing the completion of a quest, that took him months to complete. We find out that the quest item he was supposed to retrieve, was actually a book for the legendary blacksmith class.
By circumstances beyond his control, he ends up using the book on himself, resetting his level back to level 1. So he has to re learn a whole new play style, and grind his way back up. The fun part about this manhwa is that, grid doesn’t become strong right off the bat.
He has to slowly learn the nuances of his class, the blacksmith, so he ends up spending a lot of time crafting weapons instead of fighting. The weapons he craft, he can sell for, in game currency, it’s just so damn fun to watch this quirky character slowly grind his way to achieve wealth, strength, and status.
